I made a starter about five days ago from a Wyeast activator pack, and the gallon jug with the starter has been in the fridge since then (with foil on the top). If I bring it to room temp and decant, should I be good to go? Vienna lager is the plan. (My second home brew, first starter, first lager).

not sure why your cold crashing a starter a starter is to grow yeast to the proper pitching size. to my knowledge cold crashing is for the end of the ferment to clear the floating particles out of suspension, the cold makes the particles drop to the bottom and firms up the yeast bed. somebody please correct me if im wrong on cold crashing the starter.

It's very common to cold crash a starter once it's finished.

To the OP: Yes, warm it up, decant most of the liquid and you'll be good to go.
