Just need to know will the ginger taint my fermenter and effect any further beer brewing?

It won't- I've made tons of ginger beer and the next batch never has ginger flavor. I use glass exclusively nowadays, but i never had any problems even in plastic. Remember- make her a good one and she won't be so quick to say no when you want to make your next brewing purchase
