I am in the middle of brewing an extract and i have a meeting i need to get to. I am just getting up to the point of adding hops, i have not added yet. Can i stop the heating and when i get back, start boiling again and do my additions then?

Will this hurt my beer?

Thanks,

Chip

You're probably off to your meeting already - guess you have no option but to bring it all back to boiling again, then start your hops additions. I can't think of anything really bad that could happen unless you leave it sitting there at room temp for a really long time (like if you don't finish it up tonight).

You're fine. Stop the boil, then restart it and add th ehops when you get back home. Boil the hops for the normal amount of time, and then be done.
