Default LME+DME conversion

How do you figure out how much LME equals DME? For example, a receipe calls for 8 pounds of DME. I want to use LME because its cheaper, do i just order 8 pounds or is there a conversion? Thanks.

I'v always heard that 1lb DME = .8lb LME where the other 20% is the water thats left in the LME. So you need more LME to match the same amount of DME.

A handy way to think of grain/DME/LME is this: 1 lb grain = .75 lb LME = .6 lb DME
