I use a 5G (20qt) SS stock pot with 2.5-3 gallons boiled. I use 1.5lb of plain DME in said boils with at least 2oz of hops at 20 & 10 for flavor. Usually 2 different hops. 4.5oz of 3 dif hops for an IPA with 1.5oz dry hop. I'm thinking of maybe .5oz bittering addition in the same boil,since I also add the other 1.5lb of DME at flame out with a cooper's OS draught can (pre-bittered). A bit more bittering,& it'd be more like a sierra nevada IPA.So hop utilization is pretty good,but should be better with the new heating elements.
