So today I'm brewing a huge 1.100 RIS to age until next year. Everything goes great, first runnings are nice and smooth, no problems. I go to batch sparge and all hell breaks loose. I CANNOT get this thing unstuck. So I'm sitting there blowing into the valve constantly unsticking it and trying again and again. I probably did that for a solid hour until I found a sweet spot. All the while I'm wondering this can't be good for my second runnings and the beer in general.
I know for the most part HSA is nothing to worry about on the homebrewing scale, but should I be worried about my beer?
