Maybe this was just a scare piece put out by CAMRA to warn everyone of the dangers of artificially adding CO2 and to get everyone to serve real ale...

Cask-conditioned only, baby! ;)
 
If you have an aluminum cylinder, it won't rust like that and become "ANOTHER BOMB!"

...and the guy who blew his arm off because he used the wrong "reducing valve" (read, "regulator") is a testament to the fact that working with high pressure gas is indeed dangerous...especially if you're an idiot.

I think I'll find my doom and gloom somewhere else. I get my gas from a licensed and reputable dealer with whom I have a great working relationship.
 
a period of sleep which you will not wake up? Are we talking CO2 or CO? lol. CO2 concentrations have to be very high to kill you. I think it's somewhere around 15%. I guess if you in an air tight room.
