Hey guys, making my first batch of cider.

I used nottingham yeast but for some reason I microwaved some of the apple juice and put the yeast in afterwards to get it started. I didn't think about it at the time, but I may have had the juice too hot and killed the yeast.

Its been about 24 hrs now and zero activity in the primary.

How long should I wait unitil I should be concerned.
Does the nottingham take longer to get going than other yeasts?

And if no activity by x amount of time can I just throw in some lalvin 1118 into the carboy?

Thanks in advance everyone.

You may well have cooked your yeast. If you live near a homebrew store, I might just re pitch. It wouldn't hurt anything.
If not, just give it a couple days and see what happens.
It's probably fine. Not sure how hot it was, but you could have reduced the viable yeast at the least if it was real hot.
