Hi from Ottawa!

Hello,

I'm a microbiology student and I just started homebrewing when I got a homebrewing kit for my birthday! I've only brewed one batch so far, and I loved it! I'm currently just using the malt extract kits that come in a can. The one that's currently brewing now is a Canadian Red beer from Brew Canada.

I hope to learn alot more from these forums!

One thing I would suggest is to join the Members of Barleyment mailing list at http://barleyment.wort.ca/ . Most people on there are around ottawa and get together for some group buys. If you decide to go all grain, you'll get amazing prices on grain. But even without going to all grain, there are group buys for yeast, hops and even equipment. You can even pick up some yeast slurry from people.
