Hi all,

I'm building my own stir plate and have a question.
I have to strong rare earth magnets(Round) affixed to the top of my cooling fan.
What is the orientation? One with North up?
The other with North facing down?

I have a stir bar on order so I don't have it yet to test.

Thanks!

Ed

I tried it like that but could never get it to work quite right. It seemed to throw the stir bar off a lot. The stir bar would try to chase the magnet around and then just fly off center.

Finally, I stacked 5 round RE magnets and glued them on the fan horizontally, with the center of the stack on the center of the fan.

It works a whole lot better.

EDIT: kinda like this: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f255/one-more-diy-stirplate-109587/
