Hello, I am new to all grain and after my first couple batches I am hooked. I am setting up an eHerms system, however, I have a few questions about Mash/Mashout/sparge.
First if using herms to maintain temp, should I raise temp to 168 prior to mashout so I dont have to worry about sparge water temp calculations?
Second, after running mash for an hour can I add sparge water to the mash tun and recirculate it all for an hour?
