got to talking about guitars on 4chan and decided I'd make a thread here. Show off your gear!

and my tiny apartment rig. a blackheart killer ant (that is soon to be modded) and a peavey 4x12 cabinet. Took the other head to my parents in houston to try to sell it, but I doubt will. Just a cheap crate solid state.

I don't call our brewery Singing Boys Brewing for nothing :)

I don't have any pictures right now, but I have two primary instruments, a 50 year-old Guild six-string (mini jumbo maple body, arched back, very cool) and a newer Martin 12-string (its one of their lower end models). I've had the technicians put the internal pickup and mic combination inside each, and run them through a powered sound board/amp that I use with Kustom speakers.

The music I really like doing is old time Appalachian mountain music and Carter Family stuff. My oldest son and I sing together, its great fun. Maybe I'll post a link to some of our music files when I have a moment.

I play bass, guitar and drums. The only instrument I own right now is my bass which is a Univox HiFlier U1800B.

Exactly like the one on the right.

I'd *love* to be a luthier for a living. So far I do it purely for pleasure and it almost pays for the shop equipment.

If I'm ever at a point where I think I'm reasonably able to either build guitars or brew for a living, I'm gonna go for it, no question.

Don't have any uploaded pics of most of it but here's a few pieces. I build/mod guitar tube amps and also have assembled a few guitars from Warmoth et al parts.

Here's an old Disckerson Lap Steel and matching amp...from about the 1940s. I built that smallbox Marshall on top in the background, the amp on bottom is a 100W Silver Jubilee in standard colors:

Here's a couple of hombrew Strats:

I've been amazed by your homebuilt amps in other threads and again this time. Beautiful amps. Oh, and that Dickerson lap steel & matching amp -- too cool!

Thanks! That little lap steel rig rocks with a Tubescreamer goosing it. They were a big fad back in the 40's or so. It's all faded but it has a Hawaiian theme (as many of them did), palm trees in the upper left and a hula girl in the bottom right. It was made to run on 110vac so at today's wall voltage (which is often ~125vac in my home) it runs pretty hot and the power tube has cherry spots on it's plate.

the shop here in town has got an original tubescreamer.

he wants $700 for it; it's ridiculous.

lately, I've been playing some music on a little instrument called a bowed psaltery.

Here are a couple of YouTube links if you'd like to hear what it sounds like:

Bass here, never bothered to learn how to truly play anything else (at least not well) but I dabble in guitar and piano.

I have a Dean Edge Pro 4 string, this is not the actual guitar but is exactly the same. Mine's body looks nicer, must be a better cut of wood...

I also have a few cheap guitars, Fender acoustic and Ibanez electric. Bottom of the line, don't know the model #'s.

At first when I saw the title to this thread I thought it was "Brewsiscans", as in "Franciscans" and glossed over it thinking it a trappist-style thread.

I'll chime in, though, because I am a musician but not in quite the same field as you all. I'm a professional bass trombonist in Southern Ontario and play with the Hamilton Philharmonic and Orchestra London. Brass players have a bit of a (deserved) rap as beer drinkers so why not add brewer to that as well.

I have no pics of my gear and I don't think I have permission to upload either. Just thought I'd chime in.

Cheers everybody!

Bass is my main instrument, but I play guitar and a little piano. I play around on some other things too. I have a few pics of some of my instruments at http://www.jaxwell.com/guitar

I own:
- Ibanez Soundgear 5 string bass
- Custom made acoustic guitar
- 1965 Fender P-Bass
- 1964 Hofner Beatles bass
- 2 Mexican Fender Strats, one heavily modified

I also have a spinet piano, Rickenbacker knock-off bass, 4 string banjo, a midi keyboard, mandolin, and a bunch of assorted amps and other equipment.
