I have a similar design, but mounted it vertical with the input at the bottom to push the air out.

Cool, what are those clamps you used to mount it? Do you have a product link?

One reason I chose not to just go vertical is because of the notion that if you do have a leak at the element fitting that liquid will drip over the leads. But now that I think about it... if you got a leak you need to fix the d*** leak!

They are pipe clamps from Home Depot. The back side of the clamp has a lag screw built in. I'm on cell phone so can't do a link.

Could not find it on lowes or Home Depot web site. They were called 2" split ring conduit hangers with lag. Muffler hangers or clamps would be another way of doing it.

Okay thanks for the info, I should be able to track it down.

What diameter of pipe did you use? That looks great :mug:

I pulled the below out of my spreadsheet from 2 years ago. If I had to do it over I would consider RIMS tubes from Brewhardware.com ( http://www.brewhardware.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=rims&Submit= ). It would be lighter and may actually be cheaper in the end. There are more options out there now than 2 years ago. :mug:

Thanks for the info, I have been adding the costs up and it seems to be almost equivalent costs (at least for me in Canada) to do a premade one vs DIY, and your comment confirms that :mug:

I use the same brackets sourced at the home depot.. I found the DIY part to be half the fun myself... plus theres no commercial option for a 36" long cartridge heater like I use so it made my choice easy.
