I want to make 10 gallons of a nut brown. My LHBS only had one vial of Nottingham. My question is would it be better to build one starter (with double wort) using the same vial and split into the two carboys or would it be better to split the (1) vial into two different starters... I don't plan on brewing this until Saturday so I have plenty of time to grow the yeast.

I am also thinking of building one starter and brewing five gallons with the intent of brewing another five gallons and pouring right onto the previous cake.
