Today I woke up to beer splattered all over my walls and ceiling with beer pouring out of my fermenter like a volcano. Apparently my blow off tube got clogged and the pressure blew my airlock off. Should I have any concerns about anything at this point? Will it affect the flavor of my beer at all?

I woke up to the same thing this morning! Knew I was taking a gamble not putting on a blow off last night, but was so tired. Don't worry about it, your beer will be fine...

That's why when making beer, I do it in a carboy with a "full sized" blowoff tube (od of tube tightly fits id of carboy neck)....never never ever had one come even close to clogging, works a charm.

Your beer will be fine! Now where's the pictures?

The pictures don't do it justice. It was way worse in person. I lost about a gallon of beer to the carpet.

Like all riders dump their bike at least once while riding, all brewers have a ferment blow on them.

Hopefully it won't happen again. I put a 1 inch tube in the carboy now.
