Bottle bomb! Luckily only one beer has passed.

Yes it does. My favorite part is cleaning it up. I don't know if you can tell from the blurry pictures, but there is actually a piece of glass lodged into the wall from the explosion. Scary stuff.

I had a bottle bomb (not my first) go off on a countertop, about 10 ft from me. That was about 3 months ago. I keg now. Not because of it, but that was the last straw.

^Yikes!

This one, thankfully, blew up in a bookshelf (my GF's bookshelf, to be exact) so the mess wasn't terribly hard to clean up. It was also covered with a sheet to keep the light off of them so there wasn't much flying shrapnel.

to be clear, your bottle exploded in the fridge???

i thought the cooler temps would put the yeast to sleep and lower the pressure.

I would also recommend wrapping your other bottles from that batch in plastic/bubble wrap/something and sticking them in another container just in case another decides to pop.
