There are always several recipes in the BYO magazine but they almost always list an AA, or AAU unit for the hops. I know this isn't the alpha acid percentage. How do you convert this AAU amount to ounces so I can brew it?

thanks:mug:

Multiply the AA% of the hops times an amount and you get the BYO units (called Home Brew Units or HBUs by Charlie P.)

Fer instance...If a recipe calls for 15 units of Galena. You could use 2.5 ozs @ 6%AA or 3 ozs. of 5% AA.

Hope that helps...
