Default Gas Range performance

So, I just purchased a new gas range. Not for brewing, my wife destroyed our old one.

Anyway, the front "powerboil" burner is apparently 16k BTU. But, its taking about 20 minutes to bring a pot of water to boil.

Is that normal? I've been on electric stoves for so long I can't even remember. I had to put in the pipe run, and I used 1/2", and it's about a 25ft run. I'm concerned the range isn't getting enough flow.

it's so nice to be back on gas tho!

A typical turkey burner is 55,000 BTU, so yes.

Yes, gas cooking in your kitchen is the least efficient there is. Even the expensive models don't perform as well as electric or induction in how fast they heat up and how hot they get. Sorry.
