Do I really need to cut any of the dip tube on a corny keg to prevent collecting sediment into my beer? I heard after the first few ounces it will not be a problem. Anybody got any suggestions?

Leave it alone.

Leave your beer sit still for a few days....It will put all the sediment on the bottom, and your first 2 pints or so will be a bit cloudy, but then it's gone forever.

If your tubes are the bent kind, no need to cut them. Simply give teh tube a sharper bend to "lift" the end off the bottom further.

I've shortened my tubes with pretty consistent success in leaving behind 1/8th of an inch of sediment in the keg.
