Default Using London Ale Yeast, London Water Profile Necessary?

I plan on brewing a Strong Ale using Wyeast #1318. Is it necessary to try and achieve the water profile for London using mineral additions? I'm extract brewing this time, but in general, is this necessary?

Thx
-Brandon

No, it's not necessary. Water profile is sometimes important for all-grain brewing, but for extract you're OK as long as your water is drinkable.
