Maple recipes? Extract only.

Lookin to make a maple beer, not sure what base to use, amber, porter, ipa, etc. Suggestions please.

I remember RichBrewer saying with a pumpkin beer of his that it he couldn't taste the maple after fermentation, and decided to leave it out of the next batch.

Do a porter, then use maple as your priming sugar maybe?

Maple goes very well in porters and stouts. I have also had a few barleywines and scotch ales with maple in my area that I was quite fond of.

As has been mentioned before though, be aware that maple syrup is a tough ingredient to work with in terms of preserving the flavor...I've got a maple chipotle amber ale going in secondary right now and am noticing just how much the flavor fades over time.
