Canned Fruit w/o Preservatives

I am sorry if this has been covered, I searched first.


Ingredients: Bartlett Pears, Water, Corn Syrup, Sugar

Will the corn syrup cause any problems with fermentation or off flavors?

Would it be wise to steep in 160F water before using any grocery store canned fruits?
 
I would steer clear of canned fruit and only use frozen or fresh... A chef's advice to you. Canned fruit shouldn't even be a thought in your mind for brewing.
