Sorry if I missed it. I did a search and little if any info.

I purchased a beer kit, it was an Abbey Ale from my LHBS.

It had Acsorbic acid in the kit to add while racking prior to bottling.

Does anyone here use this as an additive? Why would my LHBS have added it to their kits?

Should I or should I not be using it during bottling my Belgian Ales??

I haven't heard of that before. Ascorbic acid is basically vitamin C. A Google search suggests that it can reduce oxidation of the beer since it is an antioxidant. Guess it can't hurt much but I doubt it's necessary.
