I found a few different insulation's that i dont believe have been discussed.

My plan is to make a removable wrap that my kettle will sit in during the brew process. After it will be taken off so that the kettle can be cleaned more easily.

The wrap will have foil tape both along the top and bottom edge. I think that should protect it from the flames. Does anybody have any information regarding these insulation's???

Does not appear that either of those are meant to stand up to a direct flame. Foil tape wont be much protection from the flame. I bet they would melt quite a bit

I use my stove so the flames stays pretty much under the kettle. I was thinking of offsetting it about 4in or so from the bottom.

I know this was a while ago, but wondering if you used either of these and how it's stood up to flame?
