I guess I've gotta give Duvel another run through.

Simply because it's a great example of the style doesn't mean you have to like it. I don't particularly like that style and honestly I don't get it. I'm not going to force myself to like it. That said, I believe all the people who think it's excellent, just not for me.

1. Cigar City White Oak Jai Lai
2. Hopslam
3. Southern Tier Cuvee Series (1 and 2)
4. Fullers Vintage Ale
5. Southern Tier Pumking (Gotta throw a seasonal in there!)

1) Flying Dog Single Hop Nelson IPA
2) Green Flash Palate Wrecker IPA
3) Stone Enjoy By IPA
4) The Bruery Sour in the Rye
5) Stone Arrogant Bastard

Many others would be contenders if I could have had them more than once...

Such a tough question but here goes in random order.

Highland Cold Mountain Ale
Bell's Two Hearted
Avery Maharaja
North Coast Old Rasputin
Terrapin Moo-Hoo Chocolate Milk Stout

Honorable Mention to Sam Adam's Merry Mischief Gingerbread Stout. Had a growler of this last year and really enjoyed it so hopefully I'll find it again next year.

Alagash Fluxus
LaGunitas Maximus
Ninkasi Total Domination
Russian River Damnation
Russian River OVL Stout

Stone Ruination
Three Floyds Darklord
Guiness Foreign Extra Stout
Bells Two Hearted Ale
Three Floyds Alpha King

Russian River - Pliny the Elder
Stone - Imperial Mint Chocolate Stout
DFH/Sierra Nevada - Life and Limb
Hangar 24 - Double IPA
Stone - Cali Belgi IPA

Rahr - ugly pug

Peticolas - velvet hammer

Pilsner urquell (fresh)

Lindemans gueze

Rahr - stormcloud

I could make this list in an hour and be totally different. Ha, but these popped in my head.

R...
I could make this list in an hour and be totally different. Ha, but these popped in my head.

Yeah, I know what you mean... Ask me what my 5 favorite beers are next week and at least 3 of them will have changed. That said, in no particular order...

* Stone - Ruination
* Peak Organic - Hop Noir
* Cigar City - Jai Alai
* Widmer Bros - Falconer's IPA
* Weyerbacher - Last Chance IPA

Cigar City is local to me, yes, but this is a seriously good beer; especially the "Humidor" version, which is aged on Spanish cedar. It gives it an extra black pepper-like kick.

Honestly, I was going to put Terrapin's Rye Pale Ale on this list instead of Weyerbacher's Last Chance IPA, but the cause that Weyerbacher is supporting - animal adoption shelters - just makes that beer taste all the better when I drink it. What can I say, I'm a softie like that.

Right now (will be different tomorrow):

Bells Two Hearted
Edmund Fitzgerald
New Belgium Ranger
Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye
Lagunitas IPA

Honorable mention would be anything I could get delivered to my hotel room right now after 14 hours of driving today.

It's so hard to narrow it down to five since there are so many great brews out there though.

And if this were October, my list would probably be heavier on porters and stouts than the IPA riddled list I'm giving after spending a week in 75-85 degree weather.

At the moment, in no particular order...

1. Ska - Modus Hoperandi
2. Boulevard - Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale
3. Sierra Nevada - Celebration
4. Free State - Winterfest
5. Schlafly - Coffee Stout

I don't think I can do this but my best try would be...

Bells - Two Hearted
Summit - Saga
Surly - Bitter Brewer
Surly - Abrasive
Sierra Nevada - Pale Ale

Right now would have to be

Cigar City Jai Alai
Cigar City IMPROV
Ballat Point Sculpin IPA
Lagunitas Pale Ale
Home brewed Kolsch for drinking in this Florida sun

#1 Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout - super smooth great flavor no aftertaste
#2 Spotted Cow - Such a unique flavor with the corn hard to come by outside WI
#3 Founders Porter - Flavor and hop character
#4 3 Floyds Gumball head - Hopped up wheat light goes down easy
#5 Samuel Smith Tadcaster - the barrel version a little pricey but worth it

This was way harder then I thought it would be... I have about 100 other favorites that are being left out!

Red Dread imperial Red
Lucky 13
Brown Shugga
Honey Citra NWPA
Jai Alai / Gandhi bot Flipped a coin and it landed on its side so it's a tie

For everyday drinking:

1. DFH 60 Minute IPA
2. Troeg's Pale Ale
3. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
4. Belhaven Scottish Ale
5. Boddington's Pub Ale

Otherwise:

1. DFH Poppaskull
2. Weyerbacher Insanity
3. Allagash Curieux
4. DFH Palo Santo Marron
5. DFH Burton Baton

And:

1. Evolution Migration Series Chardonnay Barrel Belgian Style Ale
2. Russian River Consecration
3. Russian River Supplication
4. Victory Red Thunder
5. Lost Abbey Angel's Share

Did my best--failed to narrow it down to just five.

It would be a little easier to name top 5 beers for each style, haha. Different times and seasons you want certain beers and styles. Though I could drink an imperial stout anytime of year :D

I could give you my top 5 beers of different styles, but all time top 5 or how about breweries?

English Beers
Timothy Taylors Landlord Strong Pale Ale (Classic no nonsense traditional pale ale)
Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout (again Classic no nonsense traditional oatmeal stout) or most things by Samuel Smiths

American Beers
Stones Arrogant Bastard Ale (Simply satisfying well rounded ale) or most things by Stones Brewery
Rogue Ales Chipotle Ale (this will probably be short lived, but its so funky I really Like at the moment) or again most things by Rogue Ales

Belgium Beers
Breckenridge Brewery Three Philosophers Quadrupel (this is actually an american brewery but it's Belgium)
or any dark strong Belgium ale of good quality.

Btw not in any particular order
