There are a lot of Yoopers in Florida in the winter. Or Texas. Or Arizona. We claim to love it here in the UP, but we lie.

Only from May-October. The rest of the time the snow keeps them away.......

No, normally only June and July are really bad. But this year has been wet, and I was swatting mosquitoes today while walking in the woods. That's the first time I can remember that being an issue. We haven't had our first frost yet, and that makes a big difference.
