I've put together a recipe for my 1st RIS and would like some input before finalizing it.

Gorbachev's Gift RIS (5.25 gallon batch)

14.5 lbs Maris Otter
1.5 lbs Flaked Oats
1.25 lbs Roasted Barley (300 SRM)
1 lb C120
1 lb Caramunich
12oz Black Patent (500 SRM)
12oz Chocolate Malt (350 SRM)
1 lb DME - just to make sure I have a better chance at hitting my target preboil gravity
-56.2 SRM

Mash: 154F for 90 minutes
Mashout: 168F for 10 minutes
Sparge: 170F
Collect 7.30 gallons for 1.094 preboil gravity

100 minute boil

1.25oz Chinook @ 60 minutes
1.20oz Chinook @ 30 minutes
0.50 Columbus @ 15 minutes
0.75oz Columbus @ 10 minutes
-73 IBUs

Wyeast 1098 - 2 packs into a 2.50L starter

Target OG 1.110
Target FG 1.030 = 10.70% ABV

what efficiency are you using? I would plan for a 5-10% drop in efficiency for a big brew like this.

I would cut the crystal out entirely, or drop it a lot, or you may risk ending up too sweet.

The other suggestion I have is to consider brewing a small beer first, and either pitching the RIS directly onto the cake, or wash that yeast, and use a bunch of the slurry. By the time you buy 2 smack packs, you could be well on the way to making another beer instead...something like a mild would work great for this, and will only set you back 8 lbs of grain or so--or, nearly the same cost as an extra package of yeast.
