Started a strawberry wine today, gonna pitch Montrachet yeast on it tommorrow, anyone ever use this yeast on strawberry wine/ what say you Yooperchick? thanks.

I've never (yet) made strawberry wine so I'm not sure of the best yeast to use. On Jack keller's site, he used champagne yeast for two of them.

If I was going to make some (and I really want to this summer, if I can find some fresh strawberries), I'd consider Montrachet, too. That's what I use in rhubarb wine and it leaves a fruitiness behind that I like.

Another thought is cotes des blancs- also good for any wine in which a fruity bouquet is desired. I've used it in dandelion wine that had citrus fruit added, and it was fruity and flavorful.

I think either one of these would work well. Jack Keller's strawberry wine recipes are here: http://winemaking.jackkeller.net/reques5.asp

Good luck with this, and let us know how it turns out!
