Would you use this shank??

Good day all,
I just got my hands on some kegging equipment and before I drill into any fridge I was wondering if this shank is useable or if I would be better off picking up a new one.
I can't tell if the plating has come off or if it's just dirty.
If it's no good for beer would it still be ok for soda water?
If it is just dirty what could I use to clean it up?

It's fine. It's chrome plated brass. The inside isn't usually plated. The brass will discolor from being in contact with the beer. Just clean it and sanitize and you should be fine.
