Hi every one I'm new

Today I was thinking about the wintergreen that use to grow near my grandparents cabin and I started thinking about what a wintergreen berry mead might taste like.

Has anyone ever tryed this? or maybe have an idea how much wintergreen I might need to do a gallon test run ?

I have no idea how much wintergreen you should use, but I would say start small and add extra if you need to...I would imagine it could be an overwhelming flavor. I do think it could go well with a dark berry, perhaps blackberry, or currant? Or with a stonefruit like cherry?

The meadery near me (Apis) makes a sasparilla inspired mead that I'm pretty sure has wintergreen in it...

I can give you an alternative way to do this. Take 40 or so wintergreen leaves and cover them with vodka. Allow to stand for at least one week, then strain off the leaves. Now you have a wintergreen concentrate to dose in mead or cocktails. You may be forced to sit down with multiple glasses of mead to get the dosing right (sacrifices).

Also works for mint and basil.
