Wine/mead/cider competition?

PaultheNurse made a suggestion about having a HBT-wide competition for wine. Even though it wouldn't be "sanctioned" (is there a wine sanctioning?), would anybody be interested in entering a contest? We could open it to wine, mead, and cider- those things not allowed in the current HBT competition.

The only prize would probably be bragging rights, or maybe a few ribbons.

We'd need people to enter, and people who are good wine judges.

Is there any interest? Any suggestions? Any thoughts? Bueller?

I love these types of competitions. Unfortunately shipping the entries is a major pita. I know all the arguments and have tried all the "tricks" but here in my small town of 30,000 I'm known at all the shipping spots and I'm given the third degree whenever I bring a package. I don't like being made to feel like a criminal for shipping a bottle of wine so if I can't move the entries myself or through the trucking company I work for, I don't enter competitions.
