I don't think so......Mine works quite well. I heat the strike water in the MLT, then move it over to a small table with a sleeping back open on it. MLT goes on sleeping bag, sleeping bag gets wrapped around MLT, and it holds heat very well, (1-3 degrees/hr).

That said, I just moved from my 7.5 gallon turkey fryer MLT to (hopefully) a 15 gallon cooler MLT, (ice cube). I say hopefully, as I just bought the cooler yesterday, and plan on a 25 lb double batch in it tomorrow. Here's hopin :mug:
