Sheffield... or do I?
Hey guys, second year hop grower here. Noticed in my garden that the centennials and cascades are starting to sprout up again. Noticed one of my plants has a trailing fibrous root about six inches long. Can I snip it off and plant it? What are the odds of seeing more plants this season.
Thanks

Yes...you could follow it back to where it branches off of the other root, cut it there, and plant it. Make sure to water it...monitor it for the next week and a half, and if it is not yellow or brown, you can be fairly sure that it survived.

fwiw, you can cover the length of a runner with earth and in a couple of weeks it'll be covered in rootlets.
You can then snip it off back near the crown and plant it...

Cheers!
