Is it ruined? She used one of those yellow and green dish washing pads, now its all scuffed up. Will these scuffs harbor bacteria enough to consider it no longer useable?

I'm finding a replacement tube is literally $2+shipping, but nonetheless, I have some racking to do meanwhile.

Plastic & scratches never mix and sponges are gross in general. It's hard to say that you won't face infection. If you don't have a LHBS then I would wait until you get a replacement. It's a bummer but I'd rather wait than to risk my beer. She meant well though, I bet.

yea, I'll order a replacement tube. I do have a LHBS. I think I'm going to soak this in hot bleach water to sanatize cuz I need it like tomorrow, but it will be replaced.

FWIW, she replaces the sponge every week, but I agree.
