Preface: With an understanding of the high variability of "real world" (lab measured, as opposed to calculated online) IBU's for expected vs. actual, I'm not asking which Tinseth calculator is more accurate, knowing in advance that none of them are "accurate". I'm also aware that Tinseth never once tested a pellet hop, and on a podcast only a year or two ago he stated that for IBU prediction when using pellets "All bets are off".
With that out of the way, and focusing only upon "Tinseth method" online calculators, and only upon whole leaf (to avoid the seemingly major pellet problem gleaned from the above), if Tinseth himself laid down a specific formula for calculating IBU's, and everyone referencing that thier online calculator is using "Tinseth" claims (by inference, since they are dropping his name in association with their product) to be applying it, why are no two of them alike as to their calculated output (with the differences being wildly different in some instances)?
