I've seen/heard conflicting reports on this and being that this is my first brew with tablets coming up on Saturday, 3 quick questions.

1) If I'm using tap water (we have a brita clip-on for the faucet too as an option?) do I need to pre-boil my water tomorrow to brew with Saturday morning? Or will the Whirlfloc take care of that on it's own? I know that's tough to call bc all water is different but ours is usually pretty clean here in Honolulu. Like I said, I'm brand new to this and still refining my brewing process.

2) How much? I've been told 1/4-1/5 of a tablet and read that I should use only 1/8th so I'm pretty lost on this one....

3) Cutting. Any advice on what to cut them with? Just figured I'd ask while I was at it because I was told a pill cutter but I can't seem to find one here on island the size of a damn hubcap...

Thanks everyone!,
-Chase

1. As long as your water tastes good, I wouldn't worry about messing with it before brewing.
2. I think you are suppose to do 1 tablet per 10 gallons. I think you would be better off measuring out some Irish Moss for one gallon batches.
3. I don't know, but no cutting with Irish Moss.

Might want to read the description here. Has some good info on whirlfloc.
