I'm going to buy 4 taps soon. From what i read Perlicks seem to be what everyone suggests. Which one should I get? Whats the differance? Should i get a creamer? I think I'll have a stout on tap maybe 1/2 the time but don't plan on nitrogen any time soon, or ever.

I found perlicks for $23.99 here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0033BTPCM/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

I don't know what model# that is (425????) but seems like a good price.

Also, I'm making a coffin box. I was going to use 1 X 12 lumber. Is that going to be high enough to mount the taps? Or should I go higher? Is a 2" shank what i should I use the 1 x 12 will be 3/4" thick? Do the shanks come with the 3/16 nipple to beer line? Or, is that usually extra?

Thanks.

I think those are 525 the 425 are more like $45. I made a collar out of 1x3 so it should work for 1x12. I have a 3 inch shank for my keezer you dont want it too short. The chrome shanks come in 3/16 and the stainless only comes in 1/4 but you can stretch the tubing over it and you can get it built into the shank or seperate.
