I'll use any American Micro that comes with a pry-off top. Smaller regional brewers usually have the same bottle that you can buy at the LHBS.

Anchor Steam bottles are cool if you have a bench capper. They don't have the shoulder needed for a wing capper.

Lions Stout bottles are extra heavy Duty and the label comes off easy. & the beer is good too.

The Breckenridge Brewery bottles seem a bit heavier too.

I was rinsing some Breckenridge bottles last night....and just holding my thumb over the top I could tell it was a thicker bottle. Even the bottle opening is a tad smaller than the rest of my bottles due to the thick glass up there.

I LOVE them bottles.

I have been drinking a whole lot of deschutes, widmere bros, and new belgium.

All the labels fall off in hot water, and the glue scrubs off with a scotch bright pad in less than ten seconds per bottle.

The deschutes bottles have the added bonus of not having the brewery name in the glass, it does have a hops vine across the shoulder of the bottle.

The drawback of deschutes is that there is only 4 or 5 different beers available to me right now, and I am about sick of drinking them.


I also inherited about 60 bottles from Barons of Australia. The labels had to be hot soaked and peeled with a knife, since they were mettalic vinyl. But they are plain 11.5oz bottles. Which for some reason I prefer not having a name in the glass.

I used to throw in a few 26 oz dark green bottles from Martinelli's sparkling apple juice. It's nice to have some larger bottles for company, or to save me trips to the fridge. I've dropped these in my garage and they chip the concrete.
