I am new to homebrewing but really love it and would like to expand my equipment. I am looking for a 10-15 gallon boil pot and wanted to see what you guys thought was a good pot for the money- Blichmann, Megapot, and Polarware. I also like the hop blocker that Blichmann put out but i am confused about it. I heard you stir the wort and let it sit for 15-20 minutes so everything settles. Would you cool with wort chiller before stirring? I appreciate you responses-Thanks

Those are all very nice pots, all of them will boil wort just fine. If you have lots of money go for the Blichmann, you'll be very happy. Personally I would not recommend spending a lot of money on a nice pot unless I already had fermentation temperature control, flasks and stir plate for yeast starters, a good wort chiller, a carbon filter for tap water, a quality thermometer, and a number of other things. You can pretty much buy all your fermentation/yeast supplies for less than a Blichmann pot and you'll notice higher quality product with the fermentation equipment. I often see people spend a bunch of money on their pots and mash tuns and then they just throw a pack of dry yeast in the carboy and set it in a basement for a couple weeks, and I just don't get it.

I have a stir plate and 2000 ml flask. I have made 5 beers and have used a starer on all of them. i am one of those people who jump in head first. I have a wort chiller. The pot I have is only 6 gallons and I have done full 5 gallon boils but always need to add water.
