So I have had a blonde brewing for two weeks in primary and was going to rack off onto some strawberries today when I realized that the one I have in my carboy now is not ready to be bottled yet. Can I just add the berries to the primary? This is my first attempt at a fruit addition and I was hoping that it would turn out but I am not sure if I will get off flavor if I add it like this or not. Thanks for all the wisdom.

Generally I think it's better to add fruit in the secondary so I would think it would be better to wait until your carboy is free to add the fruit.

Yeah I'd agree with old dog just because it would impart more berry flavoring.

What do you do with the left over spent berries? Is it like adding molasses to a compost pile or should it be discarded elsewhere?
