There is a crack/air leak in this brittle plastic. What type of valve is this and where can I get one inexpensively?

This is a newer version that is supposed to fit the gray toggle prv's.

That part won't work.. that's for a lid with the coupling welded on. I have 2 kegs with the same type of valve (with lids that don't have the threads welded on.. just a hole in it), and haven't been able to find replacement parts anywhere. You might end up just having to buy a new lid, or see if you can weld a coupling on the lid yourself.

Thanks for all of the input. It's a Spartanburg Model F.

Over recent months, I have used this (my only pinlock keg) as a primary fermenter, but there is so much crap to scrub out afterwards. Maybe I will relegate this to being a secondary fermenter (although I never really use secondaries anymore ;-)
Re: welding a new coupling on... I know absolutely nothing about welding, but have had a desire to learn, due to my homebrewing habit. I would imagine, though, that there is a steep learning curve and cash layout for equipment... is that correct?

Welding definitely has a learning curve. You might take a look at your local community colleges. Some of them have classes in basic industrial skills. The one nearby worked a sweet deal with the steel processing plant. The school built a new welding lab and the company provided the equipment and gets to reserve the lab 4 weeks out of the year.
