When did it become manly to have a shaved chest.

My wife has gotten a tattoo for each of our 3 grandchildren so far. She has 2 other tattoos for significant events in her life.

Currently, we are designing my first tattoo. I want something to mark my time here in Alaska. I started coming up here in 1989, a couple trips a year in various seasons and then moved here in 1997. It is very much in my blood and my soul. Unfortunately, winters are starting to tell on us. We will be moving to the States late next year. My design is a right half of a Moose skull paired with the left half of a Caribou skull, with a crossed knife and fork, and 907 between the antlers and the words "Got Dinner?" underneath.

Its too much like the South Park episode Rasins where the goth kids say to be an individual by rebelling and being exactly like they are. I do not understand it. Tattoos do not even seem to be a 'mark me as an individual' thing anymore. Same with piercings. Seems like the only way to be different nowadays is to not modify yourself in any way.
I hear ya.

the way I see it, "These are my tattoos. Don't ask me about them, don't even look at them. They are mine." the whole idea about standing out as an individual is completely ridiculous. conformity is in everything we do on a daily basis. there is no escape, even as an "individual". want tattoos? been done. piercings? done. dermal implants? done. no modifications? done. want to remove yourself from society altogether? yeah, they're called mountain men because they already exist. just aim on making yourself happy.:rockin:

I shaved my neck hair today (too low to be beard, to high to be chest hair, kind of Adam's apple area).

It was long enough to braid.

Does that make me manly, metro, or metro curious?
