A friend gave me a Brewer's Best ingredient kit for an IPA that she's had sitting around for about 4 or 5 months (unopened). Apparently they've just been sitting around at room temperature so I'm not sure if anything is dried out/expired.

The kit itself is probably fine. If you go into a store they are sitting on shelves waiting for someone to buy them. That is where age may have added up.

It might be a good idea to get new yeast though. Though if it is dry yeast it is probably OK also.
