I've only used wheat as wheat extract. I have been all-grain brewing for a few years now and not used any wheat. Looking to get some wheat to add to Saisons, White IPAs, and maybe a wheat beer.

I'm confused by the different wheats that are available, and am looking for some simple guidance on the difference (if there is any):

- White Wheat
- Raw White Wheat
- Red Wheat
- Flaked Wheat
....... are there any others I should be aware of?

I'm inclined to go by price on what to get, but if there is a difference, that will also be a consideration.

The main difference is if it's malted.

Flaked and torrified are usually to add foam and head. Read up on it because they are different.

just throwing it out there i have made some pretty good brown saisons using cara wheat lovibond is around 55 i think
