I saw all the various stills out there, some high, some low, spectrum of prices. Many say they can distill water, but then you read the reviews, and it isn't true.

Could you recommend a setup that would be good for brew and water distillation? Or, should I just buy a stainless still coil? I didn't want to use an upside down lid in a pot. I wanted to use a coil. I had considered copper for water, but from what I read those weren't good for that with hot water and steam, just ice makers because of the coating or something. IDK.

Clarification. I get distilling water. What does "and brewing" mean?

Distilling beer to make whiskey?
Distilling water to make beer?
Use the still as hot liquor tank
Use the still as a mash tun?
Use the still as a boil kettle?

I get RO orvde-ionized water for $0.35 per gallon for my brewing. I would never consider distilling 10 gallons on my own. I do not have the time or desire to pay the local utility. Plus the investment in equipment.?

Your situation may be different.
