I know they're going to release a complete all in on kit, but i might just buy the 1V and start brewing now. I have a plate chiller, but I'm thinking of using my old 50' IC and pump ice water through it.

so, i just ordered it. if the kettle is the same dimension as their standard 10 gallon kettle it's 13.8" wide and 16.5" tall.
It doesn't look like their false bottom will work with the eBIAB setup.

lol, busy weekend i guess. talking to myself here, but I'm leaning towards getting a false bottom and basket with no feet, reason being i will initially be using an old immersion chill i have lying around. (i'm gonna fill a keggle i have with ice and then water and pump that through the IC and let it recirc back into the ice water mix. not sure at all how effectice that'll be or how fast the ice melts but it'll be fun to try)
i want to grab a whirlpool arm to put in the unused port on the 1V and then i can just let it whirlpool around the IC all on it's own.
i go back and forth on using my plate chiller, but i think the IC will just plain be easier.

When you pump the water through the IC (from the keggle filled with ice), don't immediately recirculate the hot return water back into keggle. This may require some "juggling" if you have to top off the keggle.

That's why I'm waiting to test a similar process with a 50 gallon rain barrel I have just outside the garage. (My largest cooler is too small to hold a decent amount of iced water.) That with a submersible pond pump and a stock-pile of ice -- I freeze water in discarded 1 pint plastic yogurt/sour cream containers & concentrated juice cans. Of course, this works better when it's cold outside.
