I'm going to harvest my first year chinooks in the morning. My question is what do I do with the vines? Do I cut them back to the ground or leave some, do I bury it? Thanks guys

I really don't know but I'm going to beging my first harvest pass tomorrow afternoon. It looks like I'll need to harvest a good 4-5 times based on my cone growth. So I'm just speculating here...

I would think if you let them continue to grow they will help the root system grow.... I'm thinking let them die bak then trim...

And make certain the bine is dead, dead, dead before composting. Otherwise, anything you put the compost on will turn into a hop farm.

LOL! might be a good thing! Well I just harvested and left a few small underdeveloped cones on. So I guess I just keep watering it until the bines die? The cones smell great (there chinook), reminded me of christmas time!
