what ale to brew with Hallertauer 4.1%

Big brew coming and don't know what to brew, something pale ale-ish or IPA with honey so I can call it "Honey, IP".

You seem to have two ideas - I like to use Hallertauer with blonde or cream ales, using pilsner malt.

You can certainly do almost any Belgian style with Hallertauer. You can also do an Alt (though some say Spalt is the tradition).

Hallertauer & IPA don't really go together. Lots of other things you can do with Hallertauer, though. Good for any German or Belgian beer. Good for virtually any lager. I actually like a bit in the finish of some Pale Ales, as long as you're going for English or East Coast styles.

You could do a Hefe, or Wit... Also, I know some people that swear by Hallertau in Irish Red's...

Hallertauer is one of my favorite hops, and I've made a very tasty IPA with it. Certainly not to style, but tasty if you like them.

Oh, I love Hallertau hops. I use them all of time. I just done think they'd do much for an IPA. All that makes interesting and great would be overwhelmed by all their IPAness.
