Just looking to vent a bit probably in the wrong forum but oh well haha...

What a day, I just ordered the last component of my highly expensive electric brewery, expensive to me at least.. I have been buying components weekly for the past couple months..

I have only been brewing beer for a year now and I have become a huge fan of it, and I can honestly say its my favorite hobby to date..

News just came today, my wife's company is closing her location in 5 weeks, so she will be out of work.. She is also pregnant and our first child, our son, will be born within the next 3 weeks. To be able to afford the bills and live comfortably we both have to work. So our son will be born and when her maternity leave is up she will be jobless. I think I am more worried about insurance than anything else, as I do not carry any at my work, because hers was much better than mine. She has worked for the company for 11 years, business have been great but looks like they are going a restructure of the organization.

Depending on how that turns out will depend on my brewing future. First thing she told me was hold off on buying any more brewing equipment I have news to tell you soon, well it was to late for that as I had already ordered the last of it. Once I heard the news, first thing I said was I will sell all of my brewery equipment if I need to. Not that its worth ALOT but its something, and it made her feel good to know that I would be willing to give up my only real hobby for the good of the family.

So we shall see what happens.. At this point.. If I have to give up brewing for the time being I will be keeping all of my books and reading up and learning as much as a can so when I start brewing I should be a little better at it. My wife got me the brewing elements trilogy books for Christmas so that will be a nice read :D

Again just a rant, needed to clear my head a bit and this actually really helped.

That's a bummer man, sorry to hear about that. I lost my job abruptly at the end of August due to the CEO committing fraud. Walked in to work on a Tuesday and the FBI were all over the office and boom, jobless. I was pissed off to say the least, but then three weeks later I get a message from someone I went to grad school with and said her company was looking for people and I got a job there. I was out of work for three weeks, which doesn't sound like long, but at the time seemed like months and months. It actually turned out better for me in the end. The company I work for is a million times better and I make more than at my previous job without 80% of the bull**** I had to put up with. Things will work out I'm sure :)

Sorry for that tough news. Her losing her insurance should make all of you eligible for your work's insurance. This economy sucks, my wife has been looking for 9 months, after 8 years of stay-at-home, it is incredible how rough it is. Hopefully it all works out great.
