I have a huge garden and i figured I would grow some watermellons this year (for making wine of course). I have heard that watermellon wine is pretty thin and weak flavored and I should Mix another fruit in there, I was thinkin of just using some frozen grape juice concentrate. Has anyone here made a good wine with just watermellon or am I better off to mix it with the concentrate. Thanks in advance

I made a 1 gallon batch and it does come out very thin. If I were to do it again I would probably add the Wine Expert grape concentrate or something of the sort. maybe some Welches 100% Niagara frozen grape concentrate and some tannin. As far as another fruit I would add some Kiwi.

Oooh. Kiwi Watermelon wine. That sounds really good! I'm just aging my first batch of wine and I've already got several "next" batches I wanna try and I think I'm gonna add this one to the list!

I have never made wine but just a thought here. What if you take talk the watermellon juice and do a stove top reduction to thicken it times 2. Then mix that original 1/2 but now its 1/4 so mix it with 3/4 of regular juice. This will increase the OG but will not do much for the FG so cant help you there
